Health & Safety fine on HUGO BOSS

The designer company were fined £1.2 million over the death of a four year old boy, Austen Harrison, who was crushed by a mirror in the Bicester Village store in June 2013.

The Oxford Crown Court stated that the 19 stone steel-framed mirror had ‘negligently been left free-standing without any fixings’. The boy suffered fatal head injuries after the mirror toppled onto him in the changing rooms.

This case shows just how devastating and fatal accidents in the workplace can be due to breaching health and safety regulations. If you are concerned about any health and safety issues HELP offers a number of health and safety services.
