‘Zayn Pain’ leads to hundreds of employees requesting Compassionate Leave

April 10, 2015

According a recent story in The Independent, more than 220 calls were made to employment law experts by workers requesting compassionate leave following the news that the band member Zayn Malik had left One Direction.

An employment law specialist announced the news on social media, stating: ‘while I sympathise with One Direction fans, I hardly think this is qualified as compassionate leave’.

He continued, ‘abusing compassionate leave is inconsiderate to fellow colleagues who may genuinely need the time off’. Whilst there have been worries from mental health experts those in HR departments across the country are not likely to be so sympathetic.

Compassionate Leave is there for employees who experience the death of a close relative, if you have any questions regarding this then please get in touch with H.E.L.P. who can provide you with further information.
